We nearly fell off our office chairs when watching this video by Google introducing ‘A new way to multitask’. As it was April 1st it is apparently an April’s Fool joke and it is a good one, but at second 42 two Photon powered games are featured in this video: Begone by Nplay and WGT by World Golf Tour.

It is hard to believe that albeit there are tons of games in the Chrome Web Store, Google actually chose two Photon powered games. Crazy. But cool.

iPad Game of the Week: Cubemen. Powered by Photon Cloud. Available on Steam, for iPad and Mac.

We admit that we are proud of Photon, sure, but Photon is nothing without a great developer community doing stunning games with it.  Cubemen’ by 3Sprockets is a great example of such a game and  therefore we were not suprised that the game not only won the GEE contest, but was also honored by Apple making it their iPad ‘Game of the Week’.

Congrats to the team at 3Sprockets!

The Cubemen

„Cubemen” by 3 Sprockets is declared as the official winner of the Unity GEE multiplayer contest. Congratulations! They have won a Unity Pro license, 1 year Photon 1000 hosting (worth US$ 2028) and a lifelong subscription of the GEE magazine.
“Cubemen” is a cool new game-concept mixing RTS with tower defense AND multiplayer.

Team BrokenBoomerang came in second place with their title „MageRage” followed by MoPho’ Games’ “NecroPixel” ranked 3rd in this competition. They both won 1 year of Photon 100 hosting and a 1 year subscription of GEE Magazine. Again: Congratulations!

First my apologies to all Bob Marley fans out there. Guys, I simply could not stop myself to (mis-)quote one of his most famous song lines for the headline as it was the first thing that came into my mind when starting to write this post. The song says that people should stand up for their rights and actually we had Photon Cloud users who were complaining that they could not sign up for a subscription, really. Thanks for standing up and pushing us, guys, now you can: Photon Cloud subscriptions are live.

How to sign up for a Photon Cloud subscription:
1. If you are already registered: Login to your Photon Cloud Dashboard and click the ‘Subscribe’-button. Then select your desired package and enter your payment details. Accept the ‘Terms’ and click ‘Sign Up’. Your subscription will be activated within some minutes and will then be shown in your Cloud Dashboard.
2. If you are not registered yet: just enter your email at the Photon Cloud homepage. Then continue with step 1) above.

You can cancel or upgrade your subscriptions at any time within the payment cycle.

Please let us know your feedback so we can tweak and improve our service. Thanks!
